Thelma EbbertThelma L. Ebbert 84, of Havana, formerly of Rushville, died at 7:25 p.m. June 17, 2011, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born March 11, 1927, in Secor, a daughter of Herman and Myrtle Allen Viebrock. She married Victor L. Ebbert on Oct. 20, 1958, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Bill (and Judy) Ebbert of Pittsfield and Jack Ebbert of Farmington; one daughter, Vicki (and David) Goben of Havana; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, David Viebrock; and one sister, Karen Viebrock.

She was a waitress in Peoria and later worked with her husband at their restaurant in Rushville and in Havana.

She was a volunteer for American Red Cross and served military families and disaster services for over 50 years.

She was a member of Havana Central Christian Church.

She also was a member and past president of Schuyler American Legion Auxiliary Unit #4.

Services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fredia Foland officiating. Burial was in Christian Neck Cemetery.
