LAWRENCE L. EMKEN

VeteranLawrence Emken

Lawrence L. Emken, 47, of Lockport, formerly of Gilson, died Feb. 21, 2011, at his home.

He was born March 28, 1963, in Galesburg, a son of Everett and Shirley Lawrence Emken. He married Christine M. Lohse. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother and father of Lewistown; one brother, Lee (and Suzie) Emken of St. David; and one sister, Rayann Hardy of Lewistown.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one sister.

He served in the Army National Guard, and was an Eagle Scout.

He worked for Union Pacific Railroad.

He was a graduate of Illinois Central College and Southern Illinois University.

Graveside services were held Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend James Vancil officiating. Military rites were conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Bishop Post 1. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
