BETTY L. (PALMER) EDMISTON

Betty Edmiston

Betty L. Edmiston, 58, of Lewistown, died at 6:02 a.m. June 27, 2007, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born April 1, 1949, in Canton, the daughter of Carl and Erma Jane Powell Palmer. She married Melvin “Tink” Edmiston in November 1966 in Astoria.

Surviving are two daughters, Tina (and Ryan) White and Tammy (and Larry Jr.) Stambaugh, both of Astoria; one son, Terry of Astoria; one brother, Dick (and Norma) Powell of Astoria; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews, including Linda (and Ike) Hackett of Lewistown, who provided care for her.

She was a homemaker and helped with activities at Spoon River Towers.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Astoria Cemetery with Ike Hackett officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to an education fund for her grandchildren, in care of Ipava State Bank in Astoria.
