Robert L. Eskridge, 82, of Cuba died at 6:43 p.m. Sept. 30, 2006, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Lewistown Township, Fulton County, a son of Don C. and Kathryn Grigsby Eskridge. He married Charlotte DeWitt on Nov. 8, 1953, in Canton. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ralph D. (and Deborah) of Cuba; one brother, James (and Onnalee) of Industry; one sister, Maxine Beadles of Sanford, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen R.; one brother, John; and one sister, Mary Goodman.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the 88th Infantry in North Africa and Italy.

He farmed many years in the Cuba area before retiring.

He was a member of Locust Lane United Methodist Church and the Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Stacy Tomich officiating. Burial was in Fiatt Cemetery, with military rites accorded by Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533.
