Michael L. Emmons, 48, of Astoria died at 2:20 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 7, 1953, in Beardstown, a son of Merrill Eugene and Rosalie Briney Emmons. He married Cindy Specketer. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Brian (and Mindi) of Bartonville and Kevin of Washington; two granddaughters; one sister, Sharon Pierce of Lincoln; one uncle; and one aunt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He was shift supervisor at Dynegy Corp. in Havana. He was a former acting agronomist for Norris Farms and also had worked as a Funk Seed dealer.
He was former coach of the Havana swim team.
He was a past member of Hickory-Kerton Fire Dept.
He was a member of Dickson Mounds Archaeological Association and Mason County Dive and Rescue Team.
He was the commissioner of Big Lake Drainage Dist.
Services will take place at a later date. Cremation will be accorded. Hurley Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements.
