Dan DavisDan Davis, 60, of Rushville died at 4:35 a.m. May 13, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born Dec. 19, 1960, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, a son of Jimmie and Juanita “Nete” Tegeder Davis. He married Teri Jones on Sept. 8, 1984, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Ashley Davis (and fiancée Josh Kendrick) of Astoria and Kylor Davis (and girlfriend Mikiah Zumalt) of Waverly, Mo.; one sister, Dana (and Jeff) Workman; one brother, Tom (and Julie) Davis; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Les Ward; stepmother, Mary Ann Veith Ward; and one grandson, Knox Davis Kendrick.

He was a 1980 graduate of Rushville High School. He first began his career with Slaton Plumbing and Heating in Rushville before working at Toland Inc. in Rushville, and later Trone Appliance in Beardstown. A self-taught electrician, he began Dan’s Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric in Rushville, in 2001. He retired due to health issues in 2014.

In 1996, he became a member of the Schuyler County Fair Board, for which he enjoyed immensely. He was instrumental in modernizing the fairgrounds infrastructure and was the CEO of the fair’s Jack Wagon Campground.

Services were held Monday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
