John Francis “Jack” Driscoll, 82, of Rushville died at 1 p.m. June 28, 2017, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 3, 1934, in Portsmouth, N.H., a son of Jerome and Leonia Praye Driscoll. He married Lorraine Frenette on April 7, 1956, in Portsmouth. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Greg (and Debbie) Driscoll of Rushville, Paul Driscoll of Rye, N.H., and Wayne (and Cindy) Driscoll of East Kingston, N.H.; one daughter, Gail (and Don) Walsh of Unionville, Conn.; one sister, Judy (and Cliff) Taylor of Portsmouth, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis J. “Jerry” Driscoll.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1953-57. He then worked for the Federal Government for the next 30 years, first as a ship fitter and firefighter at the Portsmouth Navy Yard and finally as a firefighter at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth.

He was a member of the Greenland, N.H., Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. After retiring, Jack and Lorraine volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for 17 years, founding a thriving Habitat chapter in Limerick, Maine.

Friends may call at the Driscoll home, 139 S. Franklin St., Rushville from 5-6 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at a later date in Portsmouth. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
