June DoddsJune Dodds, 89, of Marion, formerly of Rushville, died at 10:33 p.m. Jan. 21, 2015, at Manor Court in Carbondale.

She was born June 10, 1925, in Springfield, Mo., a daughter of Irwin Pinkley and Cecelia Rice Pinkley. She married Kenneth Dodds on Sept. 11, 1943, in Springfield, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2006.

She also was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Donaldson.

Surviving are her children, Larry (and Judy) Dodds of Colfax, Ronald Dodds of Louisville, Ky., and Delores “Dee” (and Dennis) Donaldson of Marion; one sister, Imogene Collins of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

June and Kenneth returned to Schuyler County following World War II where they resided until 2001 on the Dodds Dairy Farm near Pleasant View. June was a homemaker. In 2001, they moved to Marion. She became an active member of Marion Senior Citizens Center and served as a Williamson County election judge for years.

She was a previous employee of JC Penney until her retirement in 1995.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville and American Legion Post #4 Auxiliary. She also served as an election judge since the 1950s.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Stephen Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Messerer Cemetery near Frederick. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
