Larry DaintyLarry I. Dainty, 74, a resident of Courtyard Estates, formerly of Creve Coeur, died at 12:45 p.m. March 28, 2014, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Lewistown Township, Fulton County, a son of Chester O. and Stella Oldfield Dainty.

Surviving are one brother, David (and Ruth Ann) Dainty of Havana; one sister, Jean Moore of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He graduated from Astoria High School in 1957 and then went to auctioneer’s school in Iowa.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1960-63. Following his military service, he worked for Caterpillar retiring after 30 years. He continued to work as a volunteer auctioneer for the Mennonite’s at their annual sale.

He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Havana.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with pastors Jim Buchanan and Sue Roat officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with military services conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1.
