Emma Danner

Emma Louise Danner, 79, of Havana died at 5:40 a.m. Jan. 13, 2014, at Havana Health Care in Havana.

She was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Havana, a daughter of Edward and Neva Pedigo Shaw. She married Phillip Danner on Feb. 17, 1951, in Havana. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death are one granddaughter, one sister and seven brothers.

Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis (and Steve) Pilger of Havana and Helen (and Jim) Baucom of Clayton; one son, Tim (and Jan) Danner of Forest City; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Chandlerville Eastern Star, where she had served as Worthy Matron several times. She served as Democrat Precinct committeewoman for Mason County for years, serving as chairwoman, and Mason County Election Judge for years. She retired from State of Illinois after 18 years.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana with Rev. Emily Williams officiating.

Memorials may be made to Chandlerville Eastern Star or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
