Ira Dotson Jr.Ira Dotson Jr., 74, of Littleton died Aug. 15, 2009, at his home.

He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in Kampsville, a son of Ira Vernon and Leota Laverne Seago Dotson Sr. He married Karen Russell on Nov. 30, 1973, in Jacksonville. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dustin (and Laura) Dotson of Quincy; one daughter, Amanda (and Greg) Runkle of Littleton; three brothers, Tom Dotson of Antioch, Calif., Jake (and Donna) Dotson of Abilene, Texas, and Jim (and Toni) Dotson of Dow; one sister, Jeanie (and David) Green of Carrollton; and four grandchildren.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran from 1950 to 1954, he served as a crew chief.

He owned Dotson Gulf Station in Carrollton. From 1977 to 1995, he was an alcohol and drug counselor for the Schuyler County Mental Health Department in Rushville.

He was a member of Macomb American Legion, the 40 et 8, and enjoyed working with small engines.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Larry Lindow officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Schuyler American Legion Post #4. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
