Lawrence DeushaneLawrence J. Deushane, 77, of Saint David died at 10:50 p.m. April 11, 2008, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born in Saint David, a son of Marian and Vilas Deushane. He married Mary Ellen DelMastro in 1952. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Lisa (and Thomas) McCluskey of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sons, Michael (and Cherrie) Deushane of Fairview and Christopher Deushane of Saint David; one sister, Carroll Wilcoxen; one brother, Wilbur “Tut” Deushane; and three grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He graduated from Lewistown High School and Bradley University’s School of Horology. He practiced watchmaking for 41 years at jewelry stores in Quad Cities: Josephson’s, Sable’s and Samuelson’s, and farmed in Fulton County.

Funeral mass was held Tuesday at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Saint David with Monsignor Robert O’Connor officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, with military rites conducted by Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and American Legion Post 1. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.
