Audrey I. Dalrymple, 82, of Ames, Iowa, formerly of Lewistown, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Kavanaugh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Colon, Neb., the daughter of Charlie and Frieda Bartels Wittmersehouse. She married Alden F. Dalrymple on Oct. 10, 1943, in Lincoln, Neb. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are four daughters, Margaret (and Gene) Parker of Metropolis, Sandra (and Roy) Slater of Ipava, Louise (and Ray) Mathews of Des Moines and Doris (and Gary) Mathis of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She and her husband farmed for 16 years.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
A memorial service will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Sheldon Munn Hotel in Ames. She donated her body to the University of Iowa. Cremation will be accorded. Family burial of ashes will be in Yates City Cemetery in Yates City at a later date. Adams Funeral Home in Ames is in charge of arrangements.
