MARQUIS C. DUNBLAZIER

VeteranMarquis Dunblazier

Marquis C. Dunblazier, 83, formerly of Lewistown died at 11:18 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.

He was born May 6, 1920, in Edgington, a son of George H. and Ruth V. Shawgo Dunblazier. He married Doris Imogene Littleton on Dec. 6, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. She died May 28, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by one brother and two half brothers.

Surviving are a number of cousins.

A World War II Army veteran, he served as a first sergeant in the 198th Ordnance Depot Company. He was a member of American Legion Post 17 in Ipava and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001.

He retired from Illinois Power in Havana.

Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Damien Spikereit officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery with military honors accorded by his American Legion post.
