Frank J. Dunmire, 75, of Timewell, formerly of Astoria, died at 8:32 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at Timberpoint Healthcare Center in Camp Point.

He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Brown County, a son of Frank O. and Bessie Matilda Pruden Dunmire. He married Nelly McGill on April 16, 1951, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Deborah (and Richard) Balke of Wauconda, Peggy Sievers of Clayton, Judy (and Leland) Parn of Golden, Patricia Dunmire of Raleigh, N.C., and Lisa (and Shawn) Flesner of Camp Point; one son, Glen of Astoria; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, four brothers and three sisters.

A member of Operating Engineers Local 649 in Peoria, he had worked for Otter Creek Sand and Gravel in Havana for 27 years, retiring in 1995.

A Korean War Army veteran, he was a member of Havana Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a member of Lewistown Presbyterian Church and attended Hersman Presbyterian Church.

Cremation will be accorded. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Hersman Cemetery south of Mount Sterling with Rev. Jim Trutwin officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Timewell American Legion Post 1059. Family will receive friends following the services at Adams Telephone Co-op in Golden. Hendricker Funeral Home in Mount Sterling is in charge of arrangements.
