Tessie P. Danner, 83, of DuQuoin, formerly of Summum, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born April 27, 1918, in Summum, a daughter of Frank and Pearl Thomas Shawgo. She married Chester Danner on Sept. 30, 1939, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Jan. 16, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Surviving are one son, Floyd (and Linda) Danner of DuQuoin; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lela Landis of Canton.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of DuQuoin and attended the Gold Plate Senior Center for many years.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Shawgo Memorial Home. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery.
