Anthony DowningAnthony DowningAnthony E. Downing, 41, of Ipava died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2000, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 27, 1958, in Macomb, the son of Larry and Shirley Dowacter Downing. He married Kelly Meyer on May 1, 1986, in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Krysta Downing and Nichole Downing, both at home; two sons, Bradley and Matthew, both at home; his mother of Roseville; his father and stepmother, Larry and Kay Downing of Augusta; his grandparents, Clinton "Jack" and Hazel Downing of Plymouth; his stepgrandmother, Dora Gooden of Blandinsville; two sisters, Kimberly (and Dan) Yeomans of Clinton and Tracy (and T.J.) Arundale of Scott Air Force Base; and two stepsisters, Michelle (and Paul) Haddock of Chicago and Heather (and Rich) Lemmon of Urbana.
He served in the Army from 1977 to 1992.
He was an inventory clerk at Western Illinois University in Macomb.
Services were held at 11 a.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Damien Spikereit officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by Ipava American Legion Post 17.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children, in care of Ipava State Bank.
