Edna Mae Day, 74, of Hamilton, formerly of Ipava, died at 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at her home.
She was born May 6, 1923, in Fort Madison, Iowa, a daughter of Glenn and Mary Anderson Sherrill. She married Joseph Cooper. She later married Hilburn “Earl” Day in 1971 in Cairo. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were three sisters, two great-grandsons and a stepdaughter.
Surviving are companion Harold Bowen of Keokuk, Iowa; one son, Larry Cooper of Washington; two daughters, Linda Ferguson of Wayland, Mo., and Dona Herr of Keokuk, Iowa; one stepdaughter, Cindy Savage of Independence, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Sherrill of Kahoka, Mo.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Hamilton and the Kings Daughters.
Services were held Saturday at Greaves Mortuary in Keokuk, Iowa with Rev. Jerry Bown officiating.
Memorials may be made to Blessing Hancock County Hospice or her church.
