Elizabeth Dean

Elizabeth W. Dean, 95, of Elms Nursing Home in Macomb, formerly of Industry, died at 3:45 a.m. Monday, May 5, 1997, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born Dec. 8, 1901, in Schuyler County, the daughter of Stephen and Emma Richey Walker. She married Ralph Eli Dean on Dec. 22, 1921, in Lewistown. He died Oct. 23, 1974. One son, Scott, and four brothers also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two granddaughters, Kathy Buchholz of Macomb and Diane Crouch of Sedalia, Mo.; and six great-grandchildren.

She owned and operated Dean’s grocery store in Industry for 30 years. She was a member of Industry Women’s Club and attended Industry United Methodist Church for many years.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Industry Cemetery with Marshall Litchfield officiating. Calling hours will be after 1 this afternoon at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Industry's General Fund.
