Edythe E. Dodd, 89, of Astoria, died at 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at her home.
She was born June 2, 1906, in Nevada, Mo., a daughter of Henry and Mary Lindsey Widner. She married Jay Dodd on May 29, 1929, in Clayton, Mo. He died Feb. 18, 1979. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Surviving are one son, James L. Dodd of Rushville; one daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Carolyn) Skiles of Colchester; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; and one sister, Gladys Weekley of Waterloo, Iowa.
She was site manager of the Astoria Senior Citizens Center for seven years.
She was a member of Astoria Christian Church where services were held Friday with Gary Sheets officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to her church or the Spoon River Hospice Program at Graham Hospital in Canton.
