George Dant

George Dant, 86, formerly of Lewistown, died at 7:01 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 1996, at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.

He was born Oct. 10, 1909, in Browning, a son of Harley and Josie Belle Trone Dant.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was also a farmer and a member of Brooklyn United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday at Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel in Rushville with Rev. Sidney Crowcroft officiating. Burial was in New Ridgeville Cemetery near Browning.

Memorials may be made to his church.
