Donald Diers

Donald R. Diers, 57, of San Jose, died at 6:32 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 1995, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

He was born March 19, 1937, in San Jose, a son of Raymond and Emma Hoeft Diers. He married Jeannie Moehring on Feb. 22, 1959, in Mason City. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Renelle) Kirk of San Jose and Mrs. Robert (Leanne) Park of Mansfield; one sister, Mrs. Ronnie (Ruth) Donavan of Mason City; one brother, Robert of Ipava; and one grandson.

He was an Army veteran. He was a farmer. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in San Jose, San Jose Tri-County Twirlers Square Dance Club and was president of the San Jose Fire Department Trustees.

Funeral services were held this morning at his church with Rev. Marvin Lorenz officiating. Burial was in Allens Grove Cemetery in San Jose.

Memorials may be made to his church, San Jose Fire and Rescue Squad or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria.

Cain Funeral Home in Mason City was in charge of arrangements.
