VeteranJoseph Ross David Dies In Indiana

Joseph Ross David, 63, who owned and operated David’s Plumbing since 1947, died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 1980, in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, Ind.

Mr. David, of 701 S. Water St., Crawfordsville, was a member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, where he had been a deacon and elder. He was a member of the Elks, P.O.S. of A. and a Charter member of Maurice Thompson Archery Club. He was a veteran of World War II. He was educated at Ipava, and attended Western Illinois University in Macomb.

Born Jan. 8, 1917, at Thermopolis, Wyo., he was a son of Elmer and Ruth Bohannon David. His parents died when he was age 2. He was brought to Ipava where he was raised by his grandparents and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bohannon, who were Dad and Mother to him. Mother survives.

Also surviving are his wife, the former Mary Margaret Gould; three daughters, Mary Ruth Montague of Sydney, Australia, Joanne McFatridge of Lafayette, Ind., and Deborah Lynn David of St. Louis, Mo.; and a grandson, David Mitchell of Lafayette, Ind.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Wabash Presbyterian Church with Rev. Laurimore Wickett officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, at Crawfordsville, Ind.
