Death of Donald V. Doss

IPAVA — Donald Vernon Doss died suddenly Tuesday of last week at 1 o’clock, at his tavern near St. David, from a heart attack. He was aged 34 years, 9 months and 15 days old.

Donald Vernon, was the eldest son of Dr. Clinton Howard and Bessie (Trickey) Doss, and was born in Ipava, Feb. 15, 1906.

He was a graduate of the Ipava schools and attended Knox college one year, also at Western Teachers college, Macomb, for several months. He was married to Mrs. Mildred (Oaks) Campbell of Vermont, and for the past year has been operating an inn near St. David.

Surviving are the parents, the widow, one sister, Mrs. Irma McLaren of the Hawaiian Islands, one brother, Melbourn Doss of Chicago, a stepson, besides several nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday at 3 o’clock p.m., from the Ipava Presbyterian church, the Rev. O. D. Slater officiating. Miss Mary Weese sang “At the End of a Perfect Day.” Burial was made in Ipava cemetery.
