Conrad M. Danner Aged 91 Years Died Sunday

C. M. Danner, an aged well known and highly respected resident, died Sunday morning at 8:15, at his home in Astoria, aged 91 years, 8 months and 1 day. Death was due to infirmities of old age.

Mr. Danner had been in failing health for several months. Saturday, however, at the dinner table, he took suddenly worse and soon lapsed into unconsciousness in which condition he remained until he passed away.

Conrad M. Danner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Danner, was born in York county, Pa., March 8, 1839. Early in life he came to Fulton county, Illinois, where he has since resided. He lived in the vicinity of Leeseburg where he became the owner of a large acreage of land, for about fifty-one years.

Mr. Danner was married three times. His first wife being Miss Amanda Stambaugh. Nine children were born to this union, three children surviving, namely, Henry, Jane and Levi, all of Woodland township, two grandchildren, Misses Fern and Myrna Danner of Peoria and an adopted son, Clarence Danner of Astoria survive.

Mrs. Danner died several years ago. His second marriage was to Mrs. Lavina Bubb who passed away in 1917. The third marriage was to Mrs. Angeline Kessler who survives him.

About sixty years ago Mr. Danner united with the Church of the Brethren and continued to live in that faith, living an honored, straight-forward Christian life. He was a quiet, unassuming gentleman, a man of good judgment, whose word was as good as his bond in every transaction he made. By his strict integrity and frugal habits, he succeeded in accumulating considerable wealth.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Church of the Brethren in Astoria. Burial in the Woodland cemetery.
