Milton Darling Of Bluff City Dies Tuesday Midnight

Milton Darling, an aged resident of Bluff City, died at his home in that village Tuesday night at 12 o’clock aged 71 years, 1 month and 12 days. Death was due to diabetes.

Mr. Darling had been a resident in Bluff City for the past 40 years and was engaged in the fishing business.

The deceased was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, Jan. 2, 1856 and came to Illinois, locating in Effingham county in 1856. He returned to Ohio but returned to Illinois a few years later, locating in Schuyler county.

Mr. Darling was united in marriage three times, all of his wives are deceased. His first wife was Miss Ellen Robinson and to them was born one child, Bert Darling, who resides in Peoria. His second wife was Miss Kate Jones. They were married July 23, 1885, to this union four children were born, Clarence Darling of Peoria, Jesse Darling and Mrs. Bessie Stephens at home and Mrs. Constance Brech of Beardstown. The third wife was Mrs. Rachel McLaughlin. She died Dec. 18, 1903.

Besides his children the deceased is survived by three sisters, namely: Mrs. John Horton of Bluff City, Mrs. Lon Williams of Virginia, Mrs. Mary Master of San Bernardino, California. Also three brothers, Jess Darling, Seattle, Wash., Monroe Darling, Ardmore, Oklahoma, John Darling of Bath, and three half-brothers, Adam Darling of Havana, Jacob Darling of Monmouth and Orange Darling of Iowa.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at one o’clock at Bluff City church, conducted by Rev. John Davis. Burial in the Bluff City cemetery.
