SALEM — A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Grover Derry Sunday morning, Feb. 29 which died. Mrs. Derry lived until Monday about 11 o’clock a.m., when she too passed away. She was conscious until a few minutes before passing away and talked to the relatives and friends as many visited with her Sunday and until a short time before she died. Dr. Hartman of Macomb, Dr. Hamilton of Vermont and Dr. Harry Baxter of Astoria were the physicians that were with her. The doctors told her that she could not live and she was as calm and told her husband and also her oldest daughter to take good care of the children. She was a dear wife and mother, a good neighbor and had many friends and will be missed oh so much.
