FRANK DYCKES

Frank Dyckes

LEWISTOWN — Frank Dyckes died in Los Angeles, Calif., Monday morning from an acute attack of heart trouble, possibly brot on by high altitude as he passed over the mountain range enroute to that city. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Phelps of Waukesha, Wis., with whom he was making his home this winter, on last Tuesday left for Los Angeles and he had stood the trip very well until they started to cross the mountain range. For many years he has been afflicted with asthmatic heart trouble and has been almost entirely blind. But thru all his afflictions he has been most cheerful and optimistic and always made the best of it. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dyckes and was born in the old Dyckes home on First South and St. Mary’s Street on March 27, 1848. Since the death of his mother he has made his home with his sisters and always had their loving and tender care. The body, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Phelps arrived here on Sunday morning by way of Galesburg. The funeral was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Worley, at 2:30 o’clock on Sunday afternoon.
