Young Man Dies.

Oscar Dell, died Tuesday morning at the home of his mother, Mrs. Sadie Dell after an illness of long duration. Death was due to consumption.

The funeral services will be held from the U. B. church, Thursday, at 10 o’clock a.m. Rev. Ella Niswonger will conduct the services. A more complete obituary will appear in next week’s issue.

Oscar Lee Dell.

Oscar Lee Dell, son of William and Sadie Dell, was born in Scotland Co., Missouri, March 24, 1889. Died in Astoria, Ill., Nov. 29, 1910, aged 21 years, 8 months and 5 days.

When 5 years of age he came with his parents from Missouri to a farm 2 miles north of Astoria, Ill., when 12 years old they moved into Astoria.

His father died Feb. 27th, 1900. His oldest brother died at the age of 2 years, 23 years ago.

There remains to mourn his loss, his mother, Mrs. Sadie Dell; his brothers, George Dell, of Monmouth, Ill., and Carl Dell of this place, his sisters, Miss Nellie Dell, of Galesburg, and Katie and Lillie, of this place.

When 15 years of age he joined the United Brethren Church.

He was a barber by trade and when 17 years old went away to work. He worked in the following towns: Cuba, Bushnell, Monmouth and Galesburg.

He came home sick last March after staying at home three weeks he went away for his health, first to Missouri and Kansas then to Millet, Texas. He came home Friday morning, Nov. 25th, only to remain at home 4 days, until he was called away by death. The evening before he died he called for his pastor to read the bible and pray with him. The funeral was held in the Astoria United Brethren church, Thursday, Dec. 1st, at 10:00 a.m. The service was conducted by the pastor.

He was buried in South Fulton Cemetery.
