He was born May 26, 1936, in Walnut Grove, a son of Woodrow and Ruth Furniss Connor. He married Betty C. Pieper on July 29, 1956, in Bushnell. She preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 2023.
He also was preceded in death one great-granddaughter, Skyler Spangler.
Surviving are four children, Pam (and Rod Johnson) Burkholder of Burlington, Iowa, Charles Connor Jr. of Springfield, Barb (and Lon) Smith of Biggsville and Mark (and Jennifer) Connor of Donnellson, Iowa; one brother, Duane (and Cathy) Connor of Vermont; two sisters, Marilyn Palm of Ipava and Janice Dedert of Cantrall; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He farmed most of his life before going to work with his cousin Larry Bradford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday April 26, at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Chaplain Zach Hunter officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bushnell Township Cemetery.
