She was born June 5, 1947, in LaHarpe, the daughter of Glen Emmerson and Vera Leora Chapman Carey. She married Louie E. Cowin on May 7, 1994, in Macomb. He survives.
Also surviving are three stepchildren, Kim (and Rick) Kaelber of Vermont, Kevin (and Jane) Cowin of Rushville and Kent (and Barb) Cowin of Astoria; three step grandchildren, Maicie (and David) Lutz, Brodie and Marshall Cowin.
She worked as an accountant for many years. In 1996 she opened her own accounting firm “Cowin Accounting & Tax Service” in Macomb. She owned and operated the accounting business for more than 20 years, retiring in 2018.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bushnell Township Cemetery with Pastor Jim Eddy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the Martin-Hollis Funeral Home.
