Sherman CoultasSherman Lee Coultas, 75, of Astoria died at 8:50 a.m. Nov. 21, 2022, at his home.

He was born Jan 9, 1947, in Perry, a son of Maxine McCallister and Charlie Turner.

Surviving are one daughter, Shawna May (and Teddy James) McCoy of Waverly; one son, Shannon Lee Coultas (and Cody Marie Easley) of Astoria; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Coultas, Levoy Coultas and Leroy Coultas.

He worked at Prairieland FS in Rushville for over 20 years. He also was known for his old-fashioned kettle corn that he made and sold at local festivals for 27 years. He was a member of Bader Christian Church, Carpenters Union Local #237, Masonic Lodge #9 A.F. and A.M. and Elks Lodge #1006.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Brother Matt Haberman officiating.

Burial will follow at McCord Cemetery in Perry. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service.
