Cynthia CoatsCynthia Louise Coats, 62, of Rushville died at 2:10 a.m. Sept. 7, 2022, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 27, 1959, in Quincy, a daughter of Donald Harper and Dona Taylor Hedden. She married Ed Coats on June 29, 1991, in Rushville. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Dona Hedden and Carroll of Swansea; stepmother, Ellen Harper of Quincy; one son, Jason (and Shanda) Chute of Rushville; three daughters, Andrea Chute of Springfield, Marcy Coats of Olney and Erika (and Philip) Palsen of Divernon; two brothers, Rick (and Karen) Harper of Clarksville, Tenn., and Gregory Harper of Effingham; three sisters, Tina (and Brian) Bilzing of Swansea, Julie Vance Harper of Camp Point and Annette Harper of San Diego, Calif.; one stepbrother, Bruce (and Debbie) Hedden of Mount Sterling; two stepsisters, Connie (and Tom) Langan of Mount Sterling and Pat Buss of Elmwood, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; and maternal grandparents, Russell and Louise Taylor.

She graduated from Brown County High School. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Rushville Monday Night Bowling League.

A funeral service was held Monday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Father Aaron Kuhn officiating.
