ELLIS DALE "SKIP" CARLTON

Ellis D. “Skip” Carlton, 77, of Brimfield died at 3:28 a.m. June 21, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 30, 1936, in Norris, a son of Ellis C. and Wilda Vance Carlton. He married Ruth Druley on Jan. 12, 1958, in Delavan. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Cindy (and Ricky) Smith of Delta, Colo., Cheryl (and Greg) Lyons of Washington and Amy (and Rob) Holtsclaw of Athens; one brother, Wilbur (and Sibyl) Carlton of Winnemucca, Nev.; twin sister, Alice Forrest of Yates City; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Gary; and his brother’s daughter, Vicki.

He served his nation in the United States Army Reserve, was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School and attended Western Illinois University.

He was assistant treasurer for Sprinkmann Insulation in Peoria for 36 years.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a private inurnment for the family.
