Delphia CooleyDelphia Lucille Cooley, 79, of Huntsville, Ala., formerly of Rushville, died at 3:30 p.m. April 18, 2014, in Huntsville, Ala.

She was born March 17, 1935, in Waverly, Tenn., a daughter of James L. and Sarah J. Lewis Gwin. She married George Wesley Cooley on July 3, 1957, in Franklin, Tenn. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2005.

She also was preceded in death by one infant brother and sister.

Surviving are three sons, George Richard (and Pru) Cooley of Columbus, Ind., Stanley Richard (and Annette) Cooley of Rushville and John Wesley Cooley of Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Jean (and James) Brown of Washington, DC, and Kathy Marie Passmore of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Frances (and David) Bramley of Waverly, Tenn., and Edith Bullock of Indianapolis, Ind.; four brothers, Robert (and Joy) Gwin of Columbus, Ind., Alvin Gwin of Tucson, Ariz., Kenneth Boyd Gwin of Edinburgh, Ind., and Preston (and Susan) Gwin of Waverly, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Rushville Church of the Nazarene.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Fred Fritz and Rev. Robert Kirkham officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday.
