Leo CarrLeo B. Carr, 73, of Galesburg, died at 3:40 a.m. March 11, 2013, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born Sept. 28, 1939, in Galesburg, a son of Thomas J. Carr Sr. and Winifred Josephine Hoben Carr. He married Elaine DeSchepper on Oct. 30, 1965, in Kewanee. She preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1998.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Winifred Patricia Carr; one granddaughter, Brianna Marie Carr-Canaday; five brothers, Thomas Joseph Carr of Galesburg, Francis Michael Carr of Rio, James Edward Carr of Littleton, Colo., Norman Carr of Ireland, and Patrick Eugene Carr who was lost at sea; and one sister, Bernadine Ann Gardner of Littleton, Colo.

Surviving are one son, Charles "Chuck" (and Cathy) of Creve Coeur; two daughters, Amy (and Mark) Canaday of Dekalb and Ann (and Robert) Lascelles of Ipava; and one sister, Mary Madeline Carr of Galesburg; and eight grandchildren.

He attended St. Joseph's Academy and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1957. He went to and graduated from radio school in Chicago.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He worked for Butler Mfg. for 34 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg American Legion Ralph M. Noble Post #285 and its Honor Guard; and Father J.O. Hunt Knights of Columbus Council 556.

A Funeral Mass was held Monday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. William Miller, IC officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Legion Honor Guard.
