Mernah ClendennyMernah E. Clendenny, 101, of Peoria died at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 30, 2012, at Buehler Home in Peoria.

She was born April 2, 1911, in Ipava, a daughter of Henry L. and Dollie Rose Lalicker Clanin. She married Bernard L. Clendenny on July 17, 1942, in Tacoma, Wash. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1993.

She also was preceded in death by four sisters, Lalla Medford, Daylia Medford and two infants.

Surviving are friends, Catherine and Hugh Wilcoxon of Farmington; one sister-in-law, Opal Petersen of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; one nephew, Ronald Medford of Jerseyville; and one niece, Phyllis Ball of Mt. Pulaski.

She was a machine operator for Princess Peggy in Peoria, retiring in 1973.

She was a lifetime member of Farmington Illinois Legion Auxiliary and First Baptist Church in Farmington.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Ipava Cemetery with Pastor Doug Krukewitt officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
