Marian E. Current, 94, formerly of Vermont, died Feb. 13, 2012, at Friendship Village in Schaumburg.
She was born Dec. 10, 1917, in Danville, a daughter of Augusta and Everet Billman. She married James F. Current on Sept. 14, 1940. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1974.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Sally and Melissa; two sons, Fred and Jeff; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She raised her four children and then returned to college when she was age 55.
She graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in elementary education. Following graduation, she taught in VIT School District for 12 years.
After retirement, she traveled and wintered in Texas.
She was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church and was active in Chapter C POE.
A celebration of life was held Saturday at her church.
