Una ClausUna Jean Claus, 77, of Rushville died at 7:15 p.m. April 12, 2010, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born June 21, 1932, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Julian and Irma Feld Unger. She married Dwight Demaree and later Frank Claus.

Surviving are one son, Robert D. (and Cindy) Demaree of Tolono; one daughter, Diane (and James) Martin Stocker of Jacksonville; one sister, B. Jane Unger of Elgin; one brother, J. Orson (and Linda) Unger of Rushville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

When a child, her parents owned and operated the Mabel Store near Camden and later the Unger Grocery Store in Rushville.

She graduated from Rushville High School, St. Francis School of Nursing in Macomb and had completed her EMT training.

She worked as a registered nurse at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Mount Sterling and Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville. She also did private-duty nursing.

She was an active member of Rushville Church of Christ “Christian”.

Services were held Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Mike Cahill officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
