Willetta CufaudeWilletta (Willie) Ilene Copper Cufaude, 86, of Moline died June 8, 2009, at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, Iowa.

She was born Sept. 17, 1922, in Mason City, a daughter of Raymond and Helen Johnson Copper. She married Harold Cufaude on June 4, 1939, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2005.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, John Raymond Copper.

Surviving are one daughter, Betty Ann (and Don) DeWees of Astoria; one son, Don (and Cheryl) Cufaude of Moline; one sister, Mary Jane Willock of Pekin; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was raised and schooled in Mason City.

She lived in Mason City until 1960 when they moved to Moline where she became active in Moline Public Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels.

Her and her husband lived in Germany for one and one half years while he completed an assignment for Deere and Co. After his retirement, they spent six months in Naples, Fla., and six months in East Moline. In 1993, they moved to Florida. She moved back to Moline in 2006.

She was a past member of East Naples Methodist Church, Shores Club of Naples, Lakewood Country Club, Short Hills Country Club and bridge groups.

Graveside services for both her and her husband will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mason City Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd. is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Hospice, American Heart Association or grantor’s choice.
