Timothy ClarkTimothy Griffin Clark, 41, of Vermillion, S.D., formerly of Lewistown, died Jan. 12, 2009, in Hartington, Neb., as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born Jan. 14, 1967, in Columbia, Mo., the son of Jack and Peggy Stephens Clark. He married Melanee Olson on April 2, 1996, in Bozeman, Mont. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents, Jack and Peggy of Lewistown; two sons, Taylor and Tanner, both of Vermillion; one daughter, Krystal of Vermillion; two sisters, Julie (and Chuck) Hudspath of Lewistown and Jennifer (and Eric) White of Forest City; two nieces; and three nephews.

He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1985. He received a bachelor of science degree from University of Illinois, and received a PhD from Montana State University.

He did post-doctorate work at University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. He was currently employed as an associate professor at Sanford School of Medicine in Vermillion.

In high school, he was active in band, FFA and sports. He showed dogs throughout the United States.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewistown United Methodist Church in Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timothy Clark Scholarship Fund at USD School of Medicine, care of Ron Lindahl, Lee Medical Bldg., Rm. 202E, Vermillion, SD 57069.
