Juanita CurtisJuanita Ruth Curtis, 95, of Rushvillle died at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 26, 2008, at Culbertson Long Term Care Facility in Rushville.

She was born April 26, 1913, in Palestine, a daughter of Chester W. and Edna Kincaid Espy. She married T. Oliver Curtis on Aug. 3, 1934, in Carthage. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by one sister, Golda Miller; and one brother, John E. Espy.

Surviving are three daughters, Olive McNeff of Mount Sterling, Leola (and Walt) Getka of Burlington, Wis., and Elizabeth Gernay of Beardstown; two sisters, Eva Guequierre of Branson, Mo., and Luella (and Jim) Trecker of Park Ridge; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Rushville, including United Methodist Women. She was a former member of Triangle Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church in Carthage. She also was a volunteer with RSVP and Schuyler County Senior Citizens. She was a member of Schuyler County Farm Bureau, Adelaide Rebekahs Lodge and a 4-H leader in Schuyler and Brown counties.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Steve Pichaske and Rev. William Hesseldenz officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice, Culbertson Gardens or First United Methodist Church.
