Jennie CampbellJennie Mae Campbell, 89, of Rushville died at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 16, 2007, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

She was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Seymour, a daughter of James T. and Mamie I. Beeman Medlock. She married Charles L. Campbell on March 13, 1942, in Seymour. He died June 3, 1998.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Peter; one sister, Maxine Loftus; and one brother, James P. Medlock.

Surviving are one son, John (and Melina) of Rochester; two daughters, Esther (and Richard) Boehm of Rushville and Norma (and Danny) Weaver of Cobden; one brother, Bobby Medlock of Olympia, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She served in the United States Army Corps during World War II.

She graduated from West Suburban Hospital School of Nursing on Nov. 18, 1940, and worked as a private-duty nurse before entering the Army. She later worked as a registered nurse at Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville for many years before retiring.

She was a member of Faith Christian Family Church in Rushville.

Services were held Sunday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Carl Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
