Maxine Crawford

Maxine CrawfordMaxine Crawford, 91, of Plainfield, formerly of Lewistown, died Dec. 23, 2006, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.

She was born Jan. 13, 1915, in Lewistown, a daughter of Perry and Myrtle Hupp Baily. She married John Crawford, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Ruth Baily, Mary Stephens, Margaret Elliot and Virginia Idle.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary Alyce Crawford-Gossett of Plainfield; one son, David of The Villages, Fla.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She retired from Caterpillar Inc.

She was a charter member of Plainfield Congregational Church.

A private family graveside service was held Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Rev. Ray Greenfield officiating. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of local arrangements. A celebration of life service is being planned for spring 2007 in Plainfield. Call 815-436-9221 for information.
