She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in St. Louis, a daughter of Herman and Anna Stege Heitert. She married Eugene W. Copeland on July 3, 1946, in St. Louis. He died Jan. 14, 1998.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Michael of Edwardsville and Daniel (and Charlene) of Rushville; and three grandchildren.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ in St. Louis.
She donated her body to Washington University in St. Louis. There will be no services or visitation. Worthington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
