William Connolly

William D. "Bill" Connolly, 76, of Astoria died at 10:26 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at his home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Canton, the son of William F. and Ida Maude Jeffrey Connolly. He married Doris E. Snowden on June 20, 1948, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gary (and Niceene) of Wapella; one daughter, Sharon Connolly of Lewistown; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was employed at Mummert Seed Co. in Astoria from 1946 to 1957. He owned and operated Astoria Skelgas Service from 1957 to 1966. He then worked for NTN Bower Bearing in Macomb for 37 and for ATS in Macomb for one year, retiring in 2004.

He was a member of Astoria United Methodist Church and Vermont Masonic Lodge #116 AF&AM, where he served as past master.

Services were Monday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
