Anna Cable

Anna Bell Cable, 77, of Camden, Ind., formerly of Astoria, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center-Delphi.

She was born April 4, 1927, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Isaac and Laura Catherine Pridemore Cable.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, five half-brothers and three half-sisters.

She attended school in Astoria and received her GED from the State of Illinois. She then received her LPN nursing certificate in 1951 in Illinois.

She was employed as an LPN by Mason District Hospital in Havana for several years. She then moved to Indiana and worked at several nursing homes, hospitals and for a general practitioner before retiring in 1990.

She lived most of her life in Astoria before moving to Camden in 1991. She was a former member of the Mud Valley Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Browning and was a member of the Deer Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church-Camden.

Services were held Monday at the Camden Old German Baptist Brethren Church with home brethren officiating. Abbott Funeral Home-Delphi was in charge of arrangements.

Local services were held Tuesday at the Mud Valley Church in Browning. Burial was in Mud Valley Cemetery in Browning. Shawgo Memorial Home was in charge of local arrangements.
