Helen Carithers

Helen L. Carithers, 71, of Vermont died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Macomb, a daughter of Ray and Oacle Mason Hendrickson. She married J.B. Carithers on Aug. 11, 1951, in Macomb. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert (and Debbie) of Table Grove and Michael Todd (and Kathy) of Middlebury, Ind.; three daughters, Tana (and Dan) Chenoweth of Table Grove, Kathy Carithers of Vermont and Peggy (and Glen) Weiss of Bushnell; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia (and Richard) Babcock of Casper, Wyo.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Furry; and four brothers, Jimmy, Jerry, Glenn and one in infancy.

She and her husband ran the Dip-It Shop for 30 years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She was a past Girl Scout leader in Vermont.

Services were held Saturday at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Roger Hamm officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad or the Vermont United Methodist Church elevator fund.
