Beulah Bennett Curtis

Beulah Bennett Curtis, 88, of Havana died at 5 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2002, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 12, 1913, in Newsmanville, a daughter of Charles and Laura Belle Hill Hinrichs. She married Harold Bennett on Jan. 8, 1935. He died May 15, 1966. She married Albert Curtis on March 7, 1975. He died April 8, 1997.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, James and Gerald.

Surviving are one son, Steve Bennett of Everett, Wash.; one daughter, Laura Bennett of Havana; three half brothers, Rod Hinrichs of Havana, Russell Hinrichs of Petersburg and James Hinrichs of Vermont; one half sister, Loretta Eden of Oregon; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She and her husband, Harold, owned and operated Bennett's Service Station for many years, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of Central Christian Church in Havana.

Services were held Tuesday at her church with Rev. Frieda Foland officiating. Hurley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church or the American Cancer Society.
