Robert L. "Sonny" Campbell, 61, of Beardstown died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at his residence.
He was born March 27, 1940, in Beardstown, a son of Samuel Leo and Opal Simmons Campbell. He married Donna Bowman. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Timothy (and Barb) of Edinburg and Robert Jr. of Waverly; one daughter, Ronda (and John) Large of Beardstown; two granddaughters; and one sister, Delores (and Rod) Skiles of Ipava.
An employee of Beardstown Township District since 1963, he became Beardstown Township Road Commissioner in 1981 and served in that capacity until he retired in 1996.
Private family services were held and cremation was accorded. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown was in charge of arrangements.
